CAMPAIGN: FILM, PHOTO, & SCREENING EVENTS
In celebration of Women’s History Month, we created #ISHAPEMYWORLD, a short documentary film series featuring the stories of 4 indomitable women. We hosted screening events in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco followed by a panel discussions led by Amanda de Cadenet with Tarana Burke (Founder of #MeToo Movement), Sarah Sophie Flickr (Women’s March), Mattie Larson (Olympic Gymnast), and Paloma Elsessar (Inclusive Model).
In addition to working on the production team, I curated the directors for the films, created and executed the Social Media strategy for the campaign.

She’s Revolutionary
Tarana Burke, civil rights activist and creator of the #metoo movement was featured among other female activists as the Time Person of the Year for 2017. The film explores Tarana’s life as a survivor, activist and mother and how she found the confidence to start a movement telling other survivors they are not alone. Tarana continues to raise awareness, leading the conversation to stop sexual violence through policy change and community support.
#6
Since her football highlight reel went viral on YouTube at the age of 9, Sam Gordon (now 15 and a recipient of the NFL game changer award) co-founded the Utah Girls Tackle Football League and filed a Title IV lawsuit against three Utah school districts who rejected the petition to start girls tackle football teams. The film focuses on her current undertakings, while highlighting the revolutionary conversation she started around gender roles and societal expectations for women.
Jaslyn: Activist of the Land
Jasilyn Charger, cofounder of the International Indigenous Youth Council, made her mark by rallying youth to support the Water is Life resistance of Standing Rock. This film traces the life of Jasilyn, who overcame an epidemic of mental health and addiction problems afflicting her community on the Cheyenne River Reservation to become a political activist protecting Native Americans. The resistance against the Dakota Access Pipeline, which threatened the region’s economic and environmental well-being got widespread attention and galvanized youth protests around the world.
Delaney Tarr
On February 14, 2018, the unthinkable happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. And while many would shrink back in the aftermath of tragedy, Delaney Tarr and her fellow survivors sprang into action. What resulted was one of the largest student-led gun control protests in US history, March for Our Lives. One year later, and she's showing no signs of stopping. Her goal is to show girls that there is room for more than one powerful female voice in a movement.
